The World's First River Turbine.

POWER UP! is a project set up by Idénergie to help support living conditions and economic development in remote communitites. They would like to build river Turbines and send them to populations in need.

Since the river runs 24 hours a day, their solution provides a reliable and consistent source of energy. In order to make all of this possible, THEY NEED YOU! The funds collected during this campaign
on Kickstarter will help them produce the first batch of turbines. Once produced, they will test them locally and then send them to their execution partners in Africa and Amazonia.
Where does this idea come from?
Pierre Blanchet, CEO and founder of Idénergie spent part of his childhood in Congo and traveled to many countries around the world such as Guatemala, Nicaragua, Argentina, Africa and Pakistan. Through his travels, Pierre was able to see first hand how populations in these areas deal with electricity or rather the lack thereof. Electricity plays a vital role in determining living conditions and community development.

The desire to bring a practical and efficient solution grew over the years. However, it is only 4 years ago when he was completing his masters degree in renewable energy that the idea started becoming a reality. He realized that there were practical solutions for people to produce their own clean electricity from rivers just as it is possible with the sun and wind.
About the River Turbine:
The river turbine is equipped with the first green generator. A true innovation that procures a fully waterproof compartment to protect critical electronic components of the generating unit. They have also developed ten versions of their generator in order to be efficient at low water velocity and power the electrical appliances of a residence. They added a “riverlutionary” smart converter to control the turbine and make sure it always operate at the optimal production level. It is reliable, efficient, simple and green! Among all the other renewable energy sources, only the river ensures a stable and continuous production of energy.

The power generated by the river turbine obeys a simple rule: the stronger the current, the more energy is produced. We are the first to have succeeded in developing a river turbine that generates electricity even at low water velocity (1 meter per second or about 2 knots). Our goal was to make the river turbine as effective as possible at various speeds.
you can help make this  a reality by pledging on Kickstarter here
